Solar questions

Steve Rudkin Solar Panel Installations MCS Certified
How do solar panels work?

The cells in solar photovoltaic (PV) panels capture the sun’s natural energy and convert it into electricity. The electricity flows to an inverter, where it is converted from DC to 230 Volts AC, making it suitable for operating all mains appliances in the home or business.

Do solar panels work on cloudy days?

Yes. Modern PV panels produce electricity during daylight hours throughout the year, even when the sun isn’t shining.

Can you work on a system someone else installed?

Yes. We provide testing, maintenance and repair and/or upgrade of solar systems that were originally installed by others. We also regularly retrofit voltage optimisation to older existing systems, producing extra energy and adding to the customer’s annual yield.

Can solar power my hot water and my car?

Yes. Our in-house package includes solar compatible immersion heating units such as the Solar iBoost+, solar compatible electric vehicle chargers and battery storage.

What happens after the quote?

Once you are happy with the design and quote, we give you a schedule for completing the work. Our team designs, installs and commissions the whole system in-house.
